The Melting Pot – a heritage building In the very heart of Carlisle – has been completely rebuilt after last year’s fire and according to in-house promoters Über is actually bigger and better than it was before, with a different layout and brand new sound system.
Holding two fingers up to the event that closed their club, the rooms have been renamed according to the damage they suffered. So, the lounge bar and cocktail boutique where the fire took hold will now be called The Fire Room; the water-damaged basement nightclub will now be called The Shower Room; the chill-out room, ravaged by smoke, will now be known as The Smoke Room. Sometimes, cheeky northern humour is the best response. All clubland fairytales have a happy ending.
The Melting Pot will celebrate their first birthday in November, with a very special guest, Rob Tissera. After everything that’s happened that is going to be one major shindig. Here’s what’s coming up through November 2011, as well as a sneak peak of a big event in early December:
