Mint Warehouse brings three unmissable and musically diverse events to the city of Leeds in March and April. Our unique, 1000-capacity warehouse space with Funktion-One sound throughout will host some of our biggest and most discerning lineups to date. First up, on March 10th Mint Warehouse welcomes the ambassador of Italian techno and one of the most in-demand djs of our times, MARCO CAROLA. Supporting Marco Carola in the main room is a Leeds debut from ar:pia:r’s DAN ANDREI. Our second event on March 24th sees Mint Warehouse play host to two of the biggest acts to come out of the USA since the birth of electronic music; the legendary INNER CITY play live in the main room alongside Chicago’s finest DERRICK CARTER. Finally on April 6th the French godfather of house and techno LAURENT GARNIER brings his LAURENT GARNIER LBS project to Leeds for the first time with support from lady of the moment NINA KRAVIZ in the main room. Secretsundazefounder and resident GILES SMITH headlines room 2.

[Laurent Garnier]

Laurent Garnier has been making people dance all over the world for 25 years. As an artist his wide range and eclecticism iswell documented and critically acclaimed but above all he is a dj. Garnier experienced first-hand the euphoria of the Acid House movement in Manchester. He then went on to shake up Paris nightlife, from La Luna to the Palace, not forgetting the mighty Rex Club. Laurent Garnier’s commitment to radio is colossal. At the beginning of the 90s, Laurent pioneered his own brand of house and techno on the airwaves at Radio FG, Maxximum and Radio Nova, where he remained a vital element for the next 18 years. Also a well respected producer, Garnier has notched up five albums and a plethora of hit singles including hits “Crispy Bacon” and “The Man with the Red Face”. Ever the workaholic, Garnier’s LBS concept-–Live Booth Sessions or Loud Bass & Samples-–was launched in the autumn of 2010. This concept has a smaller live format consisting of three people: Laurent Garnier (dj & machines), Benjamin Rippert (keyboards) and Scan X (machines). Offering a new platform for expression and improvisation, playing with Techno, Jazz, House, Dub, Breakbeat and Dubstep, this experimental live music project marries the organic and the electronic, with the flexibility of the DJ and the intensity of the live performance. Specially created to match the feverish atmosphere of a club, LBS is a new way for Laurent Garnier to approach the dance floor; close, physical and with all his buoyant emotion.

[Nina Kraviz]

Nina Kraviz is the the name on everyone’s lips at the moment. Very rarely does a dj/producer shoot to stardom so quickly, and when they do, they seldom have the talent to back it up. Nina is the exception to the rule. She began producing music in 2008, and before long had her first release “Voices” on the Underground Quality imprint in 2009. Around the same time, Nina began making a name for herself as a dj, spinning in Moscow’s bars and clubs. This led to a 2-year stint running a very well-known Friday night party at one of the most respected clubs in Russia, Propaganda. Her second release on Underground Quality “First Time EP” earned her respect from critics and peers world over. In the same year she had her “breakthrough” hit on Rekids, “Pain In The Ass”, featuring the arguably more successful “I’m Gonna Get You” on the B Side. She also collaborated with Efdemin and Sascha Funke for the releases “Hotter Than July/Sun” and “Moses” respectively. By the end of 2010 Nina could claim to have played the major clubs across the globe and in 2011 Nina stamped her mark further artistically by releasing “Ghetto Kraviz” along with remixes for Tsuba and 542, this saw her tour the globe extensively bringing her sensual take on acid house to the people. 2012 sees the release of Nina’s debut album on Matt “Radio Slave” Edwards’ Rekids and it promises, “stripped-bare house to deepest Detroit sounds via beautifully ambient pockets and more soul infused slo-mo jams. All coated with an authentic analogue finish, the vast spaces Kraviz marks out for herself provide perfect chambers in which her own delicate vocals can be so beautifully suspended”. We are delighted to bring Nina to Mint Warehouse for her Leeds debut.
