Shane (aka Tao Tek) has been DJing for over 3 years and has played a variety of gigs around the country, including Concept Ireland, The Blue Room, Sub-Culture Events Newry, Rehab, Human Traffic and React Newry.
Tao Tek plays uplifting, razor sharp, energetic dark techno which ranges from 130-135 bpm, which differs from that of many other up and coming DJ’s.
When asked in a radio interview on Clubsounds FM back in 2009 why he chose Techno Shane simply replied
‘I’ve always had a massive, massive love for techno since I was 18 after seeing Mauro Picotto and Riccardo Ferri who are major influences to me still and it turned out to be a better fit for me. There wasnt many DJ’s playing the type of Techno I was when I first began playing out live at gigs and stuff so it offerd something different to the crowd and created a different atmosphere to the nite which is a vital key to any dance event.’
‘I love all aspects of Techno from heavy to dark and minimal so I can be diverse when playing at a gig. Stage presence and crowd interaction is a big thing for me aswell. I try to interact with the crowd as much as possible throughout my set so they feel the full energy of every track which is a big key role for any DJ’.
